The meeting will take place in the main hall of the "White House" (Bílý dům) in Libeň (U Meteoru 6). It is open to the public, and the agenda includes a dedicated question time for citizens. You can find the official invitation here.

Do you have a question about upcoming construction projects, transport, education, green spaces, or the state of public areas? The citizens' Q&A is the exact moment when you can publicly address the district's leadership and demand answers.

The Town Hall Makes It Hard for People to Attend

The current coalition has moved the public question time to an inconvenient midday slot when most people are at work. On top of that, they usually convene the council only once every three months.

And if you cannot make it in person, you run into another issue. The coalition has scrapped verbatim transcripts, which used to let people look back and see who said what and how they answered. Today’s official minutes offer only a very limited summary of the meetings.

We believe the council should not operate as a closed club for politicians. It is the highest governing body of our district, and citizens must have a real opportunity to hold it accountable.

What We Will Be Asking

Councilors from our 8žije movement will, among other things, bring up the issues surrounding daycare centers and subsidies. We will also ask whether the town hall will manage to finish the children's playground in Dlážděnka Park before the elections, and how it plans to protect the Holešovičky area from uncoordinated development that is changing the entire character of the neighborhood.

We will also bring forward a variety of other topics concerning Karlín, Libeň, Kobylisy, Ládví, Bohnice, Čimice, and Troja.

With 8žije, the Town Hall Will Be More Open

If we take over the leadership of Prague 8, we will:

  • Convene council meetings every month, not just once a quarter.
  • Extend the time allocated for public questions.
  • Move the Q&A session to a time when working people can actually attend.
  • Restore detailed, useful, and fully transparent meeting records.
